This project came to us from a regular client and comprised the construction of a modern five storey residential apartment block. This was complete with a single level basement over the proposed building footprint. As can be seen in the photos the piling covered the entirety of the site and required a high level of accuracy and workmanship throughout.
The retaining wall design required the installation of 376 No. 350mm diameter retaining wall piles, at 500mm centres. The piling platform design which was required for the Mait HR130 piling rig was also provided by our in-house engineering team. This is one of many design services that we can offer.
Given the unstable nature of the ground conditions at this development the Continuous Flight Auger Bored (CFA) piling method was required. Here the augers are drilled to design depth, concrete is then pumped through the hollow stem of the augers as they are extracted. Once at ground level the pile head is cleared and the reinforcement cages ae placed within the fresh pre-mix concrete
